Account Manager

Our Government Sales team is growing at a rapid pace; we’re seeking an Account Manager to join our team and become part of our success. In this exciting position, you will be working alongside our Account Executives to service an existing client base; acting as advocate for these customers and developing relationships to uncover additional sales opportunities. The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of sales and/or business development experience at a hosting company or experience with SaaS, IaaS, Cloud computing, etc. Candidates must have experience dealing with a Federal or “public” customer base.
Duties include:
- Responsible for managing a deck of ‘named’ accounts in the government sector--small businesses through the enterprise level.
- “Hunt and farm” within these accounts and develop and maintain relationships from the operational through the ‘C’ level to meet quarterly Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) quotas.
- Managing customer annual renewals and upgrades
- Assist customers with billing issues, contract overages or other contractual adherence questions and utilizing internal resources/departments to solve these problems quickly
- Partner with customers through a strategic and consultative sales approach to understand their business needs, issues, strategies and priorities to deliver a value-adding business solution.
- Utilize Excel to create spreadsheets and manage data related to customer accounts and sales funnel management.
Qualifications:
- Background in hosting, managed services, cloud, colocation, SaaS, IaaS, etc. specifically in the Federal marketplace. Any experience dealing with system integrators is helpful also.
- Experience with contract interpretation, negotiations and project management.
- Strong communication skills; able to build relationships easily.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Tenacious personality, problem solver and customer advocate.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations at a high growth company.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a growing team.
- Proficiency with the MS Applications suite of products including Excel and PowerPoint and a CRM tool (Sugar, Salesforce.com, etc.)
- A proven and verifiable track record within a role that required IT business development, direct IT sales or relationship management skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
